Armed Robbery:
On Saturday, November 21, 2009 at approximately 2:41pm the Elkton Police Department was called to a reported Armed Robbery at the Payless Shoe Store in the Big Elk Mall.  Upon arrival officers were told by store employees that the two suspects entered the store and acted as if they were shopping when one of the suspects approached a customer service counter, asked some questions and then announced the robbery and displayed a knife. He then threatened to cut one employee who is pregnant if they did not hand over money from the cash register.  An undetermined, small amount of cash was taken during the robbery.  Officers received descriptions of the suspects and canvassed the area and located the suspects who were later identified by the victims. Lamont Dewayne Wesley 28, of the 300 block of Landing Lane in Elkton was located and arrested at the intersection of West Main Street and Bow Street. Daniel Lee Rector, 25, of the 300 block of Booth Street in Elkton was located and arrested on Howard Street in the area of Eder Park.

Both Suspects have been charged with:
Robbery
Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
Assault-First Degree
Assault Second Degree
Theft Less than $100.00
Wesley is being held at the Cecil County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond and Rector is being held on a $200,000 bond

 Fire/Arson:
On Sunday, November 22ndat approximately 2:25pm Elkton Police Officers were called to the wooded area in the 600 block of East Pulaski Highway for a report of a person setting a tent on fire.  Upon arrival Officers learned that an unknown Caucasian female had used a camp stove fuel cylinder to set fire to a tent. The fire went out on its own.  Further investigation revealed that the suspect is a Caucasian female, heavyset with red hair wearing all black clothing and goes by the name Chrissie or Christine.  The wooded area is frequented by homeless persons.    

Juvenile Arrests:
An Elkton Juvenile from Hollingsworth Manor was charged with Disorderly Conduct after he yelled profanities at an officer as he patrolled the neighborhood.  The juvenile was taken into custody and later released to his mother.  He is charged as a juvenile and the case will be handled by Juvenile Justice.  The incident took place on Saturday November 21st, at approximately 11:35am.   

A Middletown, Delaware juvenile was arrested for stealing clothing and hunting equipment from the Elkton Wal-Mart located at 1000 East Pulaski Highway.  The juvenile was stopped by store security after he attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise.  The Juvenile was taken to the Elkton Police Station and later released to his mother.  He was charged with misdemeanor theft and the case is referred to Juvenile Justice.  The incident took place on Saturday November 21, 2009 at approximately 7:15pm

 Three Elkton Juveniles were arrested on Friday, November 20, 2009 at approximately 4:00pm.  The arrest came after officers were called to a fight in the 600 block of North Street in Elkton.  Officers learned that the fight was a continuation of a fight that occurred earlier in the day at the Elkton High School.  The juveniles are charged with second degree assault and the case has been referred to Juvenile Justice.  No serious injuries reported as a result of the fight.    

 Theft:   
A 21 year old Elkton area man was arrested for shoplifting at the Elkton Wal-Mart located at 1000 East Pulaski Highway.  The man was stopped by store security after being observed concealing merchandise inside his jacket.  He also picked up other merchandise and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise.  He is identified as Michael A. Lewis of Elkton.  The incident took place on Saturday November 21st, 2009 at approximately 10:45pm.    

 Alcohol Violations:
Charles Steven King 20, of Townsend Delaware was cited for underage drinking in the 400 block of Booth Street in Elkton by an Elkton Police Officer on patrol in that neighborhood.  After being issued a citation he was told by the Property Manager to leave the property and not return.  Approximately ten minutes later with an officer still on location King returned to the property and was taken into custody and charged with trespassing.  King faces a court hearing on both charges. The incident took place on Friday November 20th, at approximately 11:00pm.

James M. Gray, 55, of Elkton was arrested and charged with consuming an alcoholic beverage in a retail area.  Gray was observed by an officer on patrol at the rear of the Drunk Monkey Bar on Pulaski Highway, when the officer got out of his car Gray went in the back door of the establishment and was then ushered out of the same door.  Gray then picked up a cup containing an alcoholic beverage and began drinking it. The incident took place on November 20th, at approximately 12:12am.
