Elkton Police Report

Robbery:

On Tuesday, November 24 at approximately 11:49am Officers from the Elkton Police Department responded to a reported robbery at the Elkton Wal-Mart located at 1000 East Pulaski Highway.  Upon arrival Officers found that an 83 year old woman from Newark, Delaware was robbed of her purse while shopping. The victim was approached while she was shopping in the grocery section of the store, the suspect began to ask her questions about some food on the shelves but the victim walked away; suddenly the suspect ran up to her, grabbed the victims fanny pack that was wrapped around her (victim) waist and was able to remove it from the victims waist.  The suspect fled from the store prior to the Police being contacted.  The victim chased the suspect in the store until she fell down.  She hurt her knee but did not want medical treatment.

The suspect is described as an African American Female,   black hair past shoulder length, with a dark cloth wrapped around the front of her head; the suspect was wearing a light blue and dark blue black coat, black pants and a white shirt.  

Stolen from the victim during the robbery was a black cloth fanny pack, a set of keys several credit cards, approximately $300.00 in cash and some other miscellaneous personal belongings.    A police investigation continues.

    What I am curious about is with all the camera’s located in the store and even in the parking lot if law enforcement was actively trying to close this investigation wouldn’t they use images rather then such a vague description of the suspect? This is boggling to me! If someone has information as to why this isn’t standard practice I would appreciate it!
