Elkton High School Music Boosters is hosting a indoor KIDA (Keystone Indoor Drill Association) competition on Saturday, February 27. The participants in this competition will be standing percussion, moving percussion, majorettes, and color guard. Three years ago Elkton High School started an Indoor Color Guard Unit, last year and this year some students from North East High School joined the team. This is the first time this kind of competition has been hosted in Cecil County.

At a town meeting on Wednesday December 9th Eric Braley Town Commissioner announced he will seek a second term. Eric has been a great addition to the North East local government in helping with communications with the county and state.
Even though the race for Elkton Mayor is months away,Wes Walker a local businessman has filed to run for mayor. Ex- Mayor Jimmy Crouse and Town Commissioner Earl Piner are looking hard at throwing their hats into the ring soon? Mayor Joe Fisona who has served as Elkton’s Mayor since May, 2002 says he will wait a while and see what the field looks like.
Mark your calendars for the second “Cecil Night in Annapolis,” to be held on Thursday, January 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Cecil’s Horsepower,” with a focus on our equine industry past, present and future and the horsepower of our businesses.
